SC3 Resolutions




One-Cent City Sales Tax


WHEREAS, the city of Jamestown, North Dakota has a one percent tax on saleable goods that is earmarked for economic development, and

WHEREAS, the city council has determined that a special election will be held on June 14, 2005 to consider reauthorization of this tax for another seven years, and

WHEREAS, the city council has indicated that they would like input from the community prior to writing the ballot language describing the tax usage.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the SC3 is in favor of extending the one percent sales tax, with revisions, and,

THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that SC3 is willing to help the city collect input from the citizens through sponsoring a forum and other activities.
